Sorry about the delay fellas; I did weigh in on time Tuesday night, but have only just got round to blogging about it......doh me! It's been a tricky week. Can't seem to get totally shot of either the toothache or the cold and it's driving me mad! Consequently there has been more than a little comfort eating over the previous week (that chinese takeaway is looking far too tempting at the moment!); as a result it's a pound on, bringing me to 16 stone 12.
Putting on a pound is nothing to get in a twist over I know - and in actual fact considering how little exercise happening lately it is better than expected - but I seem to be yo-yo-ing a bit. It is also frustrating me that I can't get back into my running; and when I do I will probably be starting from scratch rather than build on what I have managed so far. I'm just a bit unfocused at the moment. I need some time to 'be'; that time was meant to be last weekend but I was too poorly for it to be of any benefit........
Still with the sniffles, and still with a throbbing.............(naughty naughty!).......tooth, but sufficiently in control to hopefully achieve my objective of nothingness over the weekend. I have pulled myself out of the badminton match tonight, and the English National Badminton Champ finals (before you fall out of your chair, I'm watching, not playing) on Sunday. That leaves me a 48 hour runway (plus Friday night), clear. Can't wait!!
The one thing I will be doing over the weeked is joining a gym. Owing to the lack of available running tracks (don't get me started) it appears to be unavoidable. Still, in a weekend where exercise will be a bit on the scarce side, it's a comfort to know I will still be doing something which will get me a eensy weensy step closer to my end goal. I hope this negative malaise - and poorliness - doesn't go on too much longer; ne no likey!
WELCOME
Hello there everyone, and welcome to my blog (hats off to 'Blogging for Dummies' for teaching this dummy how to....you know!).
I am overweight; make that very overweight. I think the technical term is 'morbidly obese'....ouch! Over the last few years I have had a few health warning shots, enough to make me realise that although there is nothing going on with my health that can't be reversed; my time is running out to do something about it before something really bad happens.
So this is my journey to health, and the plan is an ambitious one. I want to lose weight, and I want to get fitter; fit enough to run the Manchester 10k in May of 2012, fit enough to run a half marathon towards the end of 2012, and then fit enough to run the London Marathon in 2013, where the blogging journey will end at the finish line down the Mall.
I write this in the hope that the words and thoughts of both myself and readers can inspire me when the journey gets difficult, then hopefully people can be inspired by my story; believing that the most difficult journey is possible.
I make a promise to you that I will be honest - if the wheels fall off and I have six pizzas in two days, I will come clean - and I will do my very best. Share it with me.
......Wish me luck!!
