Yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo-yo. Nope; I've not suddenly got all cool for school and the like (still the same old Star Wars loving, chick-flick adoring fella you all know so well), it appears I have a scorching case of the yo-yo's with my weight at the moment. This week it's two pounds on, giving me a grand total of 16 stone 12; it's official, my weight is now going up and down more often than a barmaids apron.
Two pounds heavier I might be, but too surprised I am not. The fact there has been no exercise for about three weeks is certainly the main reason; and in actual fact it is an encouragement that despite this fact, I have maintained my late 16 stone wobble (dance craze that is sweeping the nation) without it turning into an early 17 stone wibble. It shows that my diet hasn't been too bad at all.
More encouraging is my fiddle returning to fitness; looking forward (sort of) to a badminton match tonight, gym on Thursday night and Sunday morning (will finally be increasing the 'miles trained so far' totaliser which currently stands at less than a half marathon). If I don't end up eating the entire contents of the Tesco cake refrigerator I should be good for some weight loss next Tuesday.
So, all positive at the moment; teeth no hurty, cold as good as gone-ey, and ready to get back on tracky and back in controlly. A long way to go; but plenty of time to get there. Next stop, the 16 stone mark!
I will pass on your best wished to FFG on Thursday (see previous posts comment, although with those F's in there, I may reserve the right to temporarily change what it stands for when I am knackered and two hours into a run). I am now open to offers of completing the line 'The gym is like a box of chocolates.......' How about 'lots of things to try, but you always end up with your favourite'?!
WELCOME
Hello there everyone, and welcome to my blog (hats off to 'Blogging for Dummies' for teaching this dummy how to....you know!).
I am overweight; make that very overweight. I think the technical term is 'morbidly obese'....ouch! Over the last few years I have had a few health warning shots, enough to make me realise that although there is nothing going on with my health that can't be reversed; my time is running out to do something about it before something really bad happens.
So this is my journey to health, and the plan is an ambitious one. I want to lose weight, and I want to get fitter; fit enough to run the Manchester 10k in May of 2012, fit enough to run a half marathon towards the end of 2012, and then fit enough to run the London Marathon in 2013, where the blogging journey will end at the finish line down the Mall.
I write this in the hope that the words and thoughts of both myself and readers can inspire me when the journey gets difficult, then hopefully people can be inspired by my story; believing that the most difficult journey is possible.
I make a promise to you that I will be honest - if the wheels fall off and I have six pizzas in two days, I will come clean - and I will do my very best. Share it with me.
......Wish me luck!!

It's good to hear you sounding chippier ... good news all round. Oh, and I partly suggested FFG precisely so that the F's could, on occasion be changed to a more appropriate word! Hee, hee! What could the G change to though?
Good luck with the renewed exercise plan ... listen to your body (not just the groans) and you'll stay well. W-A x.
@Wee_Ali
I think the G will reveal itself at the time; I am going with 'God', or by the time an hour of running has passed maybe just 'Glggllleellg'. Confess I didn't gym it last night, but a good win on Wednesday night, social badminton tonight and gym (promise) on Sunday after a Mum trip should compensate! xx
